Acquisitions and mergers

If you’re considering acquiring another business entirely or just a book of business, it pays to have experience on your side.

  • What’s the value of the business you are considering purchasing – more to the point, what is it worth to you?
  • What are your plans to make a return on that investment?
  • What is the pay back period for you of the purchase?
  • What happens to your existing business while you’re working on the acquisition?  Whose eye is on that ball?
  • Other than the price, what terms should you be looking for?
  • Any staff or management coming along with it?  How do they slot into your existing structure?
  • How can you convince the vendor that you are the right purchaser for them?
  • What due diligence should you be doing?

These are just a few of the questions that you’ll probably be asking yourself.  Even if you think you know the answers, a dispassionate, objective view of the proposal is probably a good investment.

I have been involved at the “sharp end” of many acquisitions both for clients and managing a broker consolidator so have gone through the process.

Clearly, these transactions, by their nature are necessarily secretive.  This is well understood.  For a totally confidential discussion on all things acquisition please complete the contact from or call me directly on 07711 205086.
